Bronwyn Pratt has been part of 2 Galleries over the past 40 years, WORKS 11 in The Basin Victoria with her good friend Robyn Holtham.
Then she opened The Goldsmith's Gallery - San Remo in 2009.
The Goldsmith's Studio - Jewellers & Artisans Gallery in 2022
She is now working from her home-based studio in San Remo and selling her work through a variety of Galleries in Australia.
She started her jewellery career at RMIT in 1976 when she completed her Gold & Silversmithing qualifications.
Bronwyn then went onto completing a Diploma of Education and taught on and off for over 25 years in Art/Metalwork/Wood/ Plastics and Electronics. Her CAD/CAM design background was learned while she was teaching at Glen Waverley Secondary College, and she has now added this to her list of specialities. Although handmaking is her preferred skill, there are times when CAD can be a great benefit to any jeweller/metalsmith. Her jewellery is a mixture of handwrought, carved wax and CAD/CAM design.
Her main love is hand fabrication as well as wire bending, forming and fabrication. The colour of the stones, the shine of the pearls the allure of the precious metals is what is all about. She just loves the BLING of jewellery and the making of a piece of jewellery that is a joy to wear.
Gold and Silversmithing is in her blood, as she is a direct descendant of Thomas and his son William Coffin, who were Exeter Guild Hall Silversmiths in England from 1760. Their work and Makers Marks are still on show at the Exeter Museum, England.
Over the past 40 plus years, Bronwyn has exhibited nationally and internationally as well as many solo and group exhibitions in Melbourne. Her work is represented in National Gallery of Australia.
